About this crochet course

We'll be making a top down triangle shawl with textured stitches.
Two sizes are available, a classic sized, large shawl and a smaller, bandana style.
No calculating or designing involved, we'll be following a pattern whilst learning the principles of triangular shawl shaping. The pattern has been designed to use the technique of "assigned pooling" which is optional as it requires a specific yarn.

Hooks

The pattern calls for a 3.5mm hook, but depending on your personal gauge, you may need a different size.
Recommended sizes to bring:
 ✧ 3mm
 ✧ 3.25mm
 ✧ 3.5mm
 ✧ 3.75mm

What kind of yarn?

A 4ply sock yarn will work best. If you want to use assigned pooling, you will need specially dyed yarn.
The two indie yarn dyers I recommend are:

✧ The Wool Kitchen
✧ Pixie Yarn

Pattern calls for:

Assinged Pooling 4ply Yarn, 425m per 100g skein

For sizes 1 (2)  :
Main Colour :  1 (2)  skeins / 425 (850) meters.

Contrast Colour  : 0.5 (0.5) skeins / 210 (425) meters.

OR in a 4ply sock weight yarn which works up to the specified gauge and has similar characteristics to sock yarn.

If you are thinking of using a different yarn, the main thing you are looking for is that it's roughly 420m per 100g skein  or 210m per 50g skein, with a small amount of nylon.

Get in touch if you need help.
