About this crochet course

I have designed a simple, round coin purse with optional, 3D appliques.

You'll learn how to make the main body of the purse to fit the clasp and how to attach it to the clasp.

Then we'll make some whimsical 3D elements, such as daisy and aladybird.

Skill level - Intermediate 

Important : students must be confident with basic crochet techniques such as:
   
✧ dc(UK)/sc(US).
 ✧ tr(UK)/dc(US).
 ✧ slip stitching.
 ✧ chaining.
 ✧ counting stitches.
 ✧ reading basic pattern instructions.

If you have not crocheted anything in a while, make sure you re-familiarize yourself with these stitches, as we won’t have time for refreshing the basics.    

All other techniques will be taught in class.

Kit 

A kit is provided (included in the cost of the course) :  

  ✧ Purse clasp/frame.
  ✧ 4ply cotton yarn in 5 colours.
  ✧ Small amount of plastic free stuffing.  

Sewing Thread & Needles

I will have spare needles, pins and thread for you to use in class if you don't have any to match your yarn.

Tools & Materials to Bring 

Hooks 
Recommended sizes (not included in cost of course):

✧ 2mm.
✧ 2.5mm (most people will use this size). ✧ 3m (if you are a tight crocheter).

I will have spare hooks available, Clover Soft Touch, £4 each. Pay on day.

Don't like cotton? 

If you prefer to use your own yarn, you can also use a 4ply sock yarn but it makes a softer/less sturdy fabric.

Don't like 4ply? 

Because this is a small project, thicker yarns are not going to work and there is no pattern or prepared resources for using a thicker yarn.
